We’ve got another top 25 matchup involving an FCS team. In fact, this time, it’s a top 10 matchup, and it involves a coach traveling to face his former school. The Missouri State Bears are in the top five of one of the FCS rankings, at No. 5 in the STATS Poll, and one spot out in the other, at No. 6 in the Coaches Poll.

Meanwhile, Arkansas is one spot out of the top 10 in the Coaches Poll, at No. 11, and right at No. 10 in the AP Poll. Most notably, former Arkansas head coach Bobby Petrino is headed back to Fayetteville over a decade after his scandal and subsequent dismissal, this time leading Missouri State into the game.

As for the game itself, Arkansas looked good beating South Carolina last week, and Missouri State had a thrilling win over the UT-Martin Skyhawks, who will face Tennessee football later this year. Speaking of Tennessee football, remember when they wanted to hire Petrino when Jones was on the hot seat years ago? What a time that was!

Prediction

Both teams are good for their level, and that means Arkansas will be good enough to cover here as the better program. Say what you want about Petrino being motivated, if anybody was hurt by his firing, it was Arkansas. Petrino was the one who messed up. As a result, the Hogs cover but with a good offense against a good offensive mind, take the over.
