All of a sudden, Jimbo Fisher’s seat is sizzling. Yes, the same Jimbo Fisher who was given all that money to leave the Florida State Seminoles for the Texas A&M Aggies is now in his fifth year there and has had one top 10 finish. A loss to the Appalachian State Mountaineers last week has warranted him being in trouble.

Texas A&M is still inexplicably No. 22 in the AP Poll and No. 24 in the Coaches Poll after that game, and the good news for Fisher is they have a chance to rebound with a big win here. This is a game that will either save Fisher or send the program truly spiraling, and either could happen.

The Miami Hurricanes are off to a good start under Mario Cristobal, beating the Bethune–Cookman Wildcats 70-13 and the Southern Miss Golden Eagles 30-7. They are now No. 13 in both polls, and this is their first real test as a program under Cristobal.

Prediction

It’s pretty obvious at this point that Texas A&M is going to switch to Max Johnson at quarterback. Despite the abilities of Kevin Steele and Charlie Strong, that will make this game tough for them to prepare. As a result, Texas A&M will bounce back, just as they did last year from losing to Arkansas to beating Alabama, and they’ll win and cover. The change will allow them to hit the over too.
