Gambling odds according to WynnBET

  • Line: Kentucky -27.5
  • Over/Under: 53.5
  • Moneyline: Kentucky -3001; Youngstown State +1200

It’s a top 25 matchup. Okay, so it isn’t really, but the Youngstown State Penguins are 2-0 and ranked No. 23 in the FCS Coaches Poll. Coming off a huge victory over the Florida Gators on the road, the Kentucky Wildcats are ranked No. 8 in the AP Poll and No. 10 in the Coaches Poll for FBS play. They look like a brutal matchup for Tennessee football.

Mark Stoops is already one of the greatest coaches in UK history and easily the best since Bear Bryant, but now he’s got them rolling better than ever. The SEC East may very well be in play, and even if it isn’t, a New Years Six bowl is in play. Kentucky may even be better than its best team in years, which was last year.

On the other side, a once-powerhouse FCS program may be in the process of getting back to where it was. Youngstown State is in its third year under Doug Phillips and scored two blowout wins to open the season. Could they shock the world here?

Prediction

Kentucky has no game to look ahead to, as next week they face the Northern Illinois Huskies. Youngstown State will be looking ahead, though, as they have a more crucial matchup next week at the No. 1 ranked North Dakota State Bison. As result, Kentucky will avoid the hangover from last week and absolutely destroy Youngstown State. They cover with defense, so take the under.

Kentucky: 35 Youngstown State: 0 (Kentucky -27.5; Under 53.5)
