Welcome to the one top 25 non-SEC matchup of the week. They involve two teams whose predictions we got wrong the past two weeks. We first bet that Georgia wouldn’t cover against the Oregon Ducks. They did, winning 49-3. Then we bet BYU would lose to the Baylor Bears. Well, BYU won and covered in overtime.

Again, STOP COUNTING SPREADS THE SAME IN OVERTIME! Anyway, BYU comes into this matchup more tested and proven after that huge win against Baylor, and they are now ranked No. 12 in the AP Poll and No. 14 in the Coaches Poll. A road win over a Pac-12 team would give them a case to be in the top 10.

Meanwhile, Oregon rebounded from that Georgia loss by dominating the Eastern Washington Eagles 70-14, which got them back in the top 25 to No. 25 in the AP Poll and No. 24 in the Coaches Poll. This is their chance to prove they aren’t as bad as they looked against  Georgia, and BYU, as Tennessee football fans remember from 2019, can be tough.

Prediction

BYU was without its top two receivers last week and won. However, now they have to go on the road, and Chase Hall doesn’t have the experience to replace them in a hostile environment. As a result, he and Jaren Hall will struggle, and that’ll be enough for Oregon to win and cover. The game won’t hit the over either, as BYU will focus on running it and limiting possessions.

Oregon: 28 BYU: 24 (Oregon -3.5; Under 57.5)
