Defeated Miami Hurricanes 17-9

To be fair, the Texas A&M Aggies should probably be in a tier between Florida and the bottom tier. They actually beat a Power Five team, which puts them among the 10 teams in the SEC to do so. However, they remain the only team to lose to a Group of Five team, which should nullify that. Recency bias is a thing, though.

By hook or crook, the Aggies beat the Miami Hurricanes over the weekend, an undefeated and top 25 team. Sure, Miami gave that game away, and no, a quarterback change didn’t help Jimbo Fisher’s offense at all, but after losing to the Appalachian State Mountaineers, you have to give them credit for responding.

Again, it’s just enough to put them over a Florida team that struggled with USF, and it’s more than enough to give them a significant jump from the bottom of the league. Whether or not it holds remains to be seen, but Fisher needs it to for the sake of his credibility.

Well, his credibility as a head coach will be tested again this week, as A&M has another crucial matchup against the Arkansas Razorbacks. That’ll be a neutral site game, but a win there could completely turn things around for them. With trips to the Mississippi State Bulldogs and Alabama to follow that, though, it could also launch a downward spiral, so watch out.
