We haven’t deviated from our preseason post ranking the 10 biggest SEC stars Tennessee football will face this year. O’Cyrus Torrence is Florida’s best player and their biggest weapon. When fully healthy, Richardson’s dominance on the ground is helped by his blocking, and Montrell Johnson is an elite running back largely because of him.

Torrence has the highest PFF grade in the nation through three weeks of any guard. Like Johnson, he transferred from Louisiana. Billy Napier’s first winning season came when Torrence arrived in 2019 and was immediately inserted into the starting lineup. They went 32-5 with him in the lineup and won back to back Sun Belt Championships.

As we mentioned earlier, the Vols have shown some issues defending the run already, as they had some lapses at Pitt. While the interior defensive line has been elite with its pass rush, getting a push in the run game is a different story, and this will be their first real test on that front.

The defensive tackles have to win their fight with the interior of Florida’s offensive line, and Torrence is the guy they have to worry about the most. If Florida’s offense takes off and the backfield lives up to its hype against Tennessee football, he will be the reason.
