This might be the most interesting battle of the week. It involves two of the worst teams in the SEC, and the losing head coach in this one is almost certainly gone at the end of the year. Both teams have blowout losses to their one Power Five opponent, and both have looked hideous in their wins against lesser foes.

The Auburn Tigers come in as bad as everybody thought. They got destroyed by the Penn State Nittany Lions, and Bryan Harsin’s seat is warmer than ever. A win over Mizzou wouldn’t salvage much, but it would keep the program from collapsing further, and that’s certainly possible.

Meanwhile, Mizzou has its own issues with Eli Drinkwitz. Ever since Tennessee football blew them out last year, it’s become a bit more clear that he may not be the guy, and they scored an ugly win over the Abeline Christian Wildcats last week after getting blown out by the Kansas State Wildcats the week before.

Prediction

Auburn’s massive turnover issue would seem to favor Mizzou. However, Mizzou had four turnovers in its one loss, so that’s somewhat of a wash. Take out that wash, and Auburn is significantly better. As a result, they’ll use a solid ground game to control the clock and cover the spread. Limiting possessions will result in the under hitting too.

Auburn: 27 Missouri: 10 (Auburn -7; Under 51)
