Tulsa Golden Hurricane (2-1) at Ole Miss Rebels (3-0)

Saturday, Sept. 24 | 4 p.m. ET | SEC Network | Vaught-Hemingway Stadium; Oxford, Miss.

Gambling odds according to WynnBET

  • Line: Ole Miss -21
  • Over/Under: 65.5
  • Moneyline: Ole Miss -1400; Tulsa +800

One reason to not believe in Clemson is the fact that the Ole Miss Rebels looked better last week against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets than Clemson did in the opener. Former Tennessee football head coach Lane Kiffin truly does have the Rebels’ offense rolling now, and the defense is obviously stepping up in a big way too.

Now, Ole Miss will end this week as the only SEC team to have not played an SEC game yet, as they have another Group of Five foe in the Tulsa Golden Hurricane. Ranked No. 16 in the AP Poll and No .13 in the Coaches Poll, they have to avoid looking ahead to a huge inter-divisional matchup with the Kentucky Wildcats next week.

Tulsa, meanwhile, is 2-1 in its eighth season under Philip Montgomery. They lost to the Wyoming Cowboys in overtime to open the season before holding off Northern Illinois and then blowing out the Jacksonville State Gamecocks. Now they’ve got a chance at a Power Five win.

Prediction

Sorry, but holding off an NIU team that the Vanderbilt Commodores beat by 10 is nothing to brag about. It’s hard to see where this line came from, but even if Ole Miss is looking ahead, they’ll cover it easily. Look for a massive blowout, and while Tulsa’s offense is very good, it won’t do much against an Ole Miss defense that’s playing even better, so take the under.

Ole Miss: 55 Tulsa: 7 (Ole Miss -21; Under 65.5)
