  • Line: Kentucky -26
  • Over/Under: 53
  • Moneyline: Kentucky -5000; Northern Illinois +1500

Just like Ole Miss, Kentucky has to make sure it’s not looking ahead to next week either when these two face off. After beating Florida two weeks ago, Mark Stoops’ team shut down the Youngstown State Penguins in typical Mark Stoops fashion. Now, they are No. 8 in the AP Poll and No. 9 in the Coaches Poll.

Right now, Kentucky looks like Tennessee football’s third toughest game behind the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Georgia Bulldogs. Talks of winning the SEC East could be in play soon, but first, they have to make sure they get past their last Group of Five foe of the year.

Northern Illinois just lost to Vanderbilt at home, so traveling to Kentucky, they should have no chance, right? Thomas Hammock’s team has one win all year, and it’s by a touchdown against the FCS Eastern Illinois Panthers. The offense seems to be pretty good, but the defense is awful.

Prediction

Yes, Kentucky will cover easily. Northern Illinois is every bit as bad as advertised, so this will be another bloodbath. There will be a bit more scoring in this one because of NIU’s offense, but Stoops’ defense will still shut things down to make sure it doesn’t hit the over, so take Kentucky and the under once again.

Kentucky: 41 Northern Illinois: 7 (Kentucky -26; Under 53)
