Tennessee football vs. Florida: Five best prop bets
4. Hendon Hooker scores a non-throwing touchdown (-110 on FanDuel)
We should note that the bet with Bru McCoy is also a non-throwing touchdown, but that was obvious seeing as if he scored, it’d be a receiving touchdown. Anyway, Tennessee football is surrounded by questions with its rushing attack given Jabari Small’s injury last week against Akron. However, that doesn’t seem as serious as Cedric Tillman’s.
Small practiced full-go with the team this week, so he and Jaylen Wright will likely be effective. Still, while Florida is awful at defending running backs, neither is a good bet for a touchdown, as both are at -250 and we have no way of knowing who will be used on goal-line plays.
Hendon Hooker, on the other hand, is a great bet. Florida has struggled significantly defending dual-threat quarterbacks this year as well, and Hooker already has a rushing touchdown this year. With a bye week coming, the coaches may be a bit more aggressive in using his legs this game.
Combine all of that with the fact that Florida plays a lot of press coverage and likes to cheat up the middle to stop the run, and using Hooker on designed keepers may be a part of the Vols’ game plan. It was crucial against the Pittsburgh Panthers and will likely apply again.
