Former Vols who saw significant action

Josh Palmer – WR – Los Angeles Chargers

If any other Tennessee football player was going to be on the stars list, Josh Palmer would have been it. He came close, as he had six catches for 99 yards along with a 45-yard catch. Both were career highs. However, he didn’t score, and the Los Angeles Chargers lost to the Jacksonville Jaguars Sunday 38-10 to fall to 1-2.

Alvin Kamara – RB – New Orleans Saints

A week after missing a game due to injury, Alvin Kamara was back with the Saints. He had two catches for 12 yards and 15 carries for 61 yards, a solid performance. However, he had no touchdowns, and the Carolina Panthers beat New Orleans 22-14.

Emmanuel Moseley – DB – San Francisco 49ers

In the year’s ugliest game, Emmanuel Moseley did his job, helping to hold the Denver Broncos to 10 points. He had eight tackles and a pass breakup. However, his San Francisco 49ers lost 11-10.

Trey Smith – OL – Kansas City Chiefs

Opposite Emmanuel Moseley in a way, Trey Smith saw action almost every play at guard for the Kansas City Chiefs but was the weak link. He had a PFF grade in the 50s as KC averaged just two and a half yards per carry on the ground in their 20-17 loss to the Indianapolis Colts Sunday.

Cameron Sutton – DB – Pittsburgh Steelers

Although the Pittsburgh Steelers lost to the Cleveland Browns 29-17 last Thursday, Cam Sutton did his job. He had a PFF grade in the 70s, one of the highest on defense, to go along with a pass breakup and five solo tackles.

Shy Tuttle – DL – New Orleans Saints

For the second straight week, Shy Tuttle made a name for himself. Although the Saints lost to the Panthers, Tuttle had seven tackles, five of which were solo.
