A rematch of last year’s Big 12 Championship game, this could once again have College Football Playoff implications. Also, once again, the Oklahoma State Sooners are the team with those implications, while the Baylor Bears, given their loss to the BYU Cougars, are once again the team looking to spoil those implications.

Oklahoma State hasn’t been fully tested yet, but in their one Power Five game, they beat a floundering Arizona State Sun Devils team in a respectable blowout. Now, Mike Gunday’s team, ranked No. 9 in the AP Poll and No. 7 in the Coaches Poll, a spot ahead of Tennessee football in the latter, hits the road for their first real test of the season, and it’s a revenge game.

Baylor, meanwhile, just barely lost to BYU on the road, but Dave Aranda’s team has looked good outside of that, including in a 31-24 win over the Iowa State Cyclones last week. Ranked No. 16 in the AP Poll and No. 14 in the Coaches Poll, this could get them back into the national picture.

Prediction

Oklahoma State gave up 44 points to the Central Michigan Chippewas. What they did to ASU doesn’t count given the Herm Edwards drama. Their defense isn’t what it was last year. That alone is why Baylor will win. The Bears will go off offensively, and that’ll actually lead to them winning this game fairly comfortably.

Baylor: 38 Oklahoma State: 27 (Baylor -1.5; Over 56.5)
