Another non-conference top 25 game, these are two ACC teams trying to prove they belong in these rankings. Neither has a top 25 win, although one came extremely close, and the other still has a pretty impressive win. Now comes the test of which program has truly arrived.

Last week, the Wake Forest Demon Deacons had Clemson beat, but they lost in double overtime. Ranked No. 22 in the AP Poll and No. 21 in the Coaches Poll, Dave Clawson’s team still has everything to play for, but they can’t avoid another slip-up. The former Tennessee football offensive coordinator needs this win.

On the other side, the Florida State Seminoles are No. 23 in the AP Poll and No. 22 in the Coaches Poll after blowing out the Boston College Eagles this past weekend. They still have that ugly win at LSU to fall back on, and Mike Norvell, after being on the hot seat, seems to have finally taking the next step with his program.

Prediction

FSU’s offense has a bit more balance, and Wake is suffering a hangover from that almost-Clemson win. With Hurricane Ian missing Tallahassee, the Seminoles will be ready to play, and they’ll take control of this game late, even covering the spread. Expect a shootout too, so take the over.
