Welcome to the most impossible game to pick in the SEC this week. It involves two wildly inconsistent teams, and we have no way of knowing which team on either side will show up. Honestly, stay away from this game at all costs. It’s just too difficult to figure out.

The Texas A&M Aggies were left for dead. They lost to the Appalachian State Mountaineers, and the Miami Hurricanes, the team they rebounded against, then lost to the MTSU Blue Raiders. However, somehow they shocked Arkansas and are No. 17 in both polls while undefeated in SEC play right now.

Meanwhile, the Mississippi State Bulldogs got hit with a dose of reality two weeks ago at LSU. Inconsistencies like that under Mike Leach have always been why teams like Tennessee football didn’t hire him. Now, though, they’re back at home in a matchup to determine who will remain in the SEC West race.

Prediction

Texas A&M is without its star receiver, which will render the offense even worse than it usually is. Their defense will still play great, but with Mississippi State at home, A&M will be the one to make the mistakes. As a result, in an anti-Leach like way, this game hits the under, but MSU does cover.

Mississippi State: 21 Texas A&M: 14 (Mississippi State -3.5; Under 45)
