It doesn’t get any easier for No. 5 ranked Clemson. Another ACC top 25 game this week features an undefeated Clemson and an undefeated ACC team from North Carolina. This time, though, Dabo Swinney’s team is at home, and they may be out for a bit of revenge after an emotional overtime win over Wake Forest last week. Will it be enough, though?

The N.C. State Wolfpack are just another team making Tennessee football look bad on paper, as the Vols almost hired Dave Doeren in 2017 but didn’t make the move. Now, ranked No. 10 in both polls, they have a chance to do the unthinkable and win two straight against Clemson.

Welcome to an epic top 10 matchup. After looking ugly in some early wins, N.C. State has had time to improve, and it lines up with their matchup of the season. With Florida State seeming to be back, this is even a more crucial matchup, as the ACC Atlantic will be a brutal race this year.

Prediction

So many of the principles seem to favor N.C. State. Clemson had a double-overtime win last week, so they should be tired. They are also overrated. Add in the fact that the hangover from beating a top 25 team last week could affect their focus, and N.C. State has a lot threaten them with.

Because of all of these things, the Wolfpack will indeed cover, and it’ll be a second straight scare for the Tigers. However, Clemson is significantly better, so they’ll still win the game late. Look for their offense to come alive just enough for this game to hit the over.
