Stars of the week

Emmanuel Moseley – DB – San Francisco 49ers

He was given the toughesty task of the weekend, guarding Cooper Kupp, but Emmanuel Moseley was incredible. Moseley split time guarding Kupp and Allen Robinson, and while Kupp did have 14 catches for 122 yards, Robinson had just two catches for seven yards. There is no doubt Moseley had a lot to do with that.

In addition to that success, the former undrafted free agent from Tennessee football had six solo tackles, a tackle for a loss and a pass deflection as the San Francisco 49ers beat the Los Angeles Rams 24-9. He didn’t allow a touchdown and was part of an elite defensive performance.

Cameron Sutton – DB – Pittsburgh Steelers

Out of the blue, Cam Sutton has been turning into a star. He was drafted back in 2017 and spent his first four year with the Pittsburgh Steelers as a backup but rotational cornerback before emerging as a starter in 2021. Now, he’s not letting that got.

Sutton had a tackle, a pass deflection and an interception, his second pick in four weeks, on Sunday. Yes, Pittsburgh lost to the New York Jets, but that wasn’t his fault. A series of offensive mistakes cost them. For his part, Sutton proved he is elite, and he’s only getting better.
