Former Vols who saw significant action

Marquez Callaway – WR – New Orleans Saints

The undrafted Tennessee football players on the Saints were the ones who contributed in their 28-25 loss to the Vikings Sunday. Marquez Callaway had three catches for 53 yards. He didn’t have a touchdown, but he’s in a difficult situation given how bad the quarterback play is there. Still, that’s a jump in action from last week.

Trey Smith – OL – Kansas City Chiefs

After a low PFF grade to show himself as one of the weak links for the Kansas City Chiefs in their loss to the Indianapolis Colts, Trey Smith bounced back at right guard against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He helped paved the way for KC to rush it 37 times for 189 yards and two touchdowns as the Chiefs beat the Bucs 41-31.

Darrell Taylor – DE – Seattle Seahawks

Although he played in fewer than 50 percent of the defensive snaps, Darrell Taylor was still a key edge rusher. Pete Carroll is using him as a situational guy. It didn’t really work in this game, though, as Taylor came away with one tackle in their 48-45 win over the Lions.

Shy Tuttle – DL – New Orleans Saints

Another undfrated free agent who is now starting with the Saints out of UT, Shy Tuttle joined Callaway in contributing to their play Sunday as they lost to the Vikings in London. Tuttle finished the game with two solo tackles and three overall at defensive tackle.
