Other former Vols who played
Matthew Butler – DL – Las Vegas Raiders
In his second game as a fifth-round draft pick out of Tennessee football, Matthew Butler saw action on just nine plays. However, he finished with a solo tackle as the Las Vegas Raiders beat the Denver Broncos 32-23.
Morgan Cox – LS – Tennessee Titans
The most veteran Vol, Morgan Cox took part on eight snaps as the Tennessee Titans beat the Indianapolis Colts 24-17. He snapped for three made extra points and a 44-yard made field goal by Randy Bullock along with an average of 52.8 yards per punt on four punts by Ryan Stonehouse.
Jauan Jennings – WR – San Francisco 49ers
With two catches for 22 yards, Jauan Jennings didn’t see much action in the 49ers’ 24-9 win over the Rams. However, he still helped out.
Jakob Johnson – FB – Las Vegas Raiders
Another player for the Raiders in their win over the Broncos, Jakob Johnson had no stats at full back. However, he was in about a third of the snaps on offense and special teams.
Velus Jones Jr. – WR – Chicago Bears
It was Velus Jones Jr.’s first game after being drafted out of Tennessee football this past spring, and all signs looked good as he returned two kickoffs for 22 yards apiece while returning a punt for 19 yards. Then, however, he muffed a punt to lose the game late for the Chicago Bears 20-12 to the New York Giants.
Josh Palmer – WR – Los Angeles Chargers
Another receiver who played sparingly in a win, Josh Palmer had one catche for 25 yards. The Los Angeles Chargers beat the Houston Texans 34-24.
Jalen Reeves-Maybin – LB – Houston Texans
On the other side of Palmer was Jalen Reeves-Maybin. Playing almost exclusively on special teams, Reeves-Maybin had two tackles, one of which was solo, against LA.
Kendal Vickers – DL – Las Vegas Raiders
Playing 19 snaps on defense and five on special teams, Kendal Vickers helped the Raiders beat the Broncos 32-23 with his one solo tackle. He’s continuing to be another overachiever from Tennessee football in the pros.
