Tennessee football falls after not playing in Week 5 SEC Power Rankings
Lost to Alabama Crimson Tide 49-26
Maybe this Arkansas Razorbacks team isn’t legitimate after all. They looked great against the Cincinnati Bearcats to open the season and then did what they should have done with a Power Five win over South Carolina. However, since that time, they have looked bad.
It started with them struggling to beat their former coach in Bobby Petrino, who led the Missouri State Bears. Then they lost to a Texas A&M team that isn’t good, which we’ll get to in a little while, and while they were always going to lose to the Alabama Crimson Tide, they couldn’t even cover at home. In fact, they couldn’t cover against Alabama’s backup quarterback.
As a result, we have had to drop this team way down in our SEC Power Rankings. It’s worth noting that they don’t really have any quality wins, as South Carolina and this year’s Cincy team are both in question. That top 25 ranking by Cincy is based on beating nobody.
Anyway, it doesn’t get any easier, as over the next two weeks, they have to visit the Mississippi State Bulldogs and the BYU Cougars. All of a sudden, a bowl game could be in question now. Arkansas runs a cutting-edge offense similar to Tennessee football, but theirs is more about controlling the clock, and it doesn’t seem to be working right now.
