Defeated Eastern Washington Eagles 52-17

Maybe it’s a bit weird that we moved the Florida Gators up two spots after just beating the Eastern Washington Eagles. They still have lost both SEC games, and Tennessee football dominated them a lot more than the 38-33 score reflected at the end of the game.

However, Florida still has as many Power Five wins as Arkansas, and while Texas A&M has one more Power Five win, they also have that Group of Five loss. Oh, the Gators’ Power Five win over the Utah Utes looks better than any A&M or Arkansas win too. As a result, blowing out the Eastern Washington Eagles is enough to move them up.

Now, they still aren’t in the top 25, although losing to Tennessee football was enough to push the Vols into the top 10, but they are right in the middle of the pack of our SEC Power Rankings. Billy Napier appears to have things headed in the right direction, and now that Anthony Richardson can throw the ball, they could be dangerous.

Home games against Missouri and LSU over the next two weeks are great opportunities for them. They’re capable of winning both, and that’ll give them a lot of momentum heading into their bye week, as they will come out of that having to face Georgia.
