Tennessee football: Five key Vols to watch for at LSU

With Cedric Tillman banged up, Tennessee football will obviously need Bru McCoy and Ramel Keyton on the outside once again. However, unlike against Florida, the Vols can use their running backs, tight ends and slot receivers to be their biggest stars in the passing game because of the level of press coverage LSU plays.
Jalin Hyatt is by far going to be the biggest beneficiary of that. Speedy receivers who don’t have wideout size have already torched LSU this year. Just last week, Auburn’s Ja’Varrius Johnson had three catches for 74 yards and a score, and Ontaria Wilson of the Florida State Seminoles had seven catches for 102 yards and two scores.
For the year, Hyatt already has 23 receptions for 325 yards and three touchdowns. He had five catches for 58 yards against Florida and has either scored or gone over 50 yards receiving in every game this year, proving his worth as Velus Jones Jr.’s replacement in the slot.
This could be the game, though, where Hyatt takes it to another level. Sure, he had the stats against the Akron Zips, but going over 100 with a score against LSU is certainly possible. There will be lots of check down opportunities when these teams face off. Hyatt should take advantage.
