Tennessee football: Five key Vols to watch for at LSU

Jeremy Banks containing Jayden Daniels’ rushing attack will be crucial for Tennessee football to win. However, unlike against Florida, since Daniels has more horizontal runs, there will be plenty of chances for sacks. LSU has given up an abysmal 16 sacks on the year, and they have allowed seven the past two weeks, none of which came on a blitz.
This opens the door for Byron Young and Tyler Baron to wreak havoc. Young has been relatively quiet at the start of the year, consistently rushing the passer but always just missing the sack opportunity. He should finally get over the hump and have a big game here.
That’s not to say Baron and Roman Harrison can’t, but Young is the star of the group. With Daniels trying to make things happen by scrambling out of the pocket, Young will be crucial in terms of taking the proper angles and coming up with big plays. His potential to shine is through the roof in this game Saturday.
Part of what Young had to do against Florida was force Daniels back in the pocket, and he’ll have to do some of that in this game too. However, there will be more chances for sacks while doing that, so he should step up in a big way. If he doesn’t have two sacks, it’ll be a disappointment.
