The most underrated part of LSU’s pass rush, which has 13 sacks on the year, is what they do in the middle. Ali Gaye helps with that, but Jacuqelin Roy is the key part of it, and just recently, he has started to get healthy. That could spell danger for Hendon Hooker and Tennessee football if Josh Heupel isn’t prepare for him.

Roy has 16 tackles on the year, seven of which were solo, to go along with one and a half tackles for a loss and a sack. He’s starting to come on at just the right time too, as he had five solo tackles just this past week against Auburn. That’s incredible for a nose tackle.

According to Brian Kelly, that was the first game Roy played all year fully healthy, and it showed. Now, with a bit more rhythm, he could become extremely difficult to deal with. Cooper Mays, Jerome Carvin and Javontez Spraggins will all have to watch out for where he is in the middle.

Of course, this could also affect the Vols’ vertical rushing attack, which is crucial for making Josh Heupel’s system go. As a result, they may have to use more designed runs for Hendon Hooker once again. Roy had six tackles for a loss last year and appears to be just getting started.
