Tennessee football at LSU: Five key Tigers to watch for against Vols

We’re going to here a lot about LSU’s receivers this week. Kayshon Boutte was supposed to be their star, but he doesn’t even have 100 yards receiving on the year yet. Malik Nabers leads the team in receiving with 290 yards, but he had just two catches for 26 yards last week, and his only touchdown came against Southern.
Jayden Daniels is this team on offense. The dual-threat quarterback leads the team in rushing and passing, and like Hendon Hooker, he hasn’t thrown a pick. Daniels has completed 89 of 131 passes (67.9 percent) for 915 yards (7 yards per attempt), six touchdowns and no interceptions. He has 60 carries for 321 yards and three touchdowns.
Given what Anthony Richardson, a mobile quarterback, just did to Tennessee football through the air, the Vols have to key in on Daniels at all cost. Now, he could be banged up, as he suffered a knee injury last week, and he’s an east/west runner more than north/south.
That combined with poor pocket awareness has resulted in 16 sacks on LSU this year, which gives the Vols a chance to make tons of plays. However, Daniels is still the star of the offense, and Brian Kelly is a genius enough coach to use him appropriately, so Tim Banks needs to be ready.
