Who saw this as a top 25 game at the beginning of the year? We’re looking at a battle between two of the three remaining undefeated teams in the Big 12. One is under a first-year head coach, and the other is under a second-year head coach after being a disaster last year.

The TCU Horned Frogs enter this game looking to make a strong showing in Sonny Dykes’ first year. Ranked No. 17 in the AP Poll and No. 18 in the Coaches Poll, they just thrashed the Oklahoma Sooners and are looking as elite as ever. That came after a close but solid win at the SMU Mustangs the week before.

On the other side, the Kansas Jayhawks have shocked everybody to get to 5-0, No. 19 in the AP Poll and No. 17 in the Coaches Poll. It’s Lance Leipold’s second year, and since Vols athletic director Danny White found him with the Buffalo Bulls, Tennessee football could have ended up with him. With three Power Five wins and a win at the Houston Cougars, they are legit.

Prediction

Honestly, a part of me really wanted to pick Kansas to win this game. However, there’s a catch. The Wisconsin Badgers firing Paul Chryst means everybody is wondering what will happen with Leipold at the end of the year. That distraction will derail a red-hot start, particularly with the offense. As a result, TCU covers, but the game hits the under.

TCU: 31 Kansas: 20 (TCU -6.5; Under 69)
