Jabari Small. 3. player. 839. Running back. Junior. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

22 carries, 127 yards, 2 TDs; 1 reception, 3 yards

Things are really starting to pick up for Jabari Small. It’s the second straight game in which he had over 100 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns for Tennessee football. These weren’t just a bunch of yards late in the game either. Small’s yards were valuable and played a huge role in helping the Vols to build their huge lead.

It started on the first drive after recovering the fumbled kickoff. Ramel Keyton had that 11-yard grab, but it was sandwiched in the middle of four carries by Small for 15 yards, the final carry being a one-yard touchdown run. He was just getting started on the day too.

On the Vols’ final touchdown drive to put the game away, Small had five carries, and he capped it off with a five-yard touchdown run. Arguably Small’s best drive ended in a missed field goal. Up 20-7, he had a 25-yard run, a six-yard run and then a three-yard run.

Simply put, Small was reliable all day for the Vols. The run game in general was elite, as Jaylen Wright had 12 carries for 59 yards, and Dylan Sampson had two carries for 14 yards. Those three running backs together combined for 200 yards, and that’s without the quarterback runs. Small, though, was the star.
