Tennessee football moves back up SEC Power Rankings with win at LSU
Defeated Texas A&M Aggies 24-20
Sure, they were playing their backup quarterback, but this is Alabama. Even with Jalen Milroe, they should be able to beat a bad Texas A&M team. Struggling like that was more than enough for us to drop them from No. 1 to No. 3 in our SEC Power Rankings, and there’s a case to make that Ole Miss belongs ahead of them.
As Nick Saban’s team gets set to visit Tennessee football this week, there are clear issues surrounding the program. Bryce Young’s health stands out among all of them, but even with Young, they struggled to beat Texas on the road earlier in the year. Eventually, they’re bound to finally slip up.
Luckily for them, they are still a top five program, and every team is still chasing them. Regardless of how much they struggle, they’re 6-0, and that’s all that matters. Things are about to get brutal for them, though, so if Young can’t go, Milroe needs to improve in a hurry.
Following a trip to Tennessee football, they’ll host Mississippi State. Then they have a bye, but after visiting LSU, they have to visit Ole Miss. That’s three road games, three top 25 games and two top 25 games on the road amongst their next four games.
