Defeated Auburn Tigers 42-10

Well, after looking hideous for two weeks, Georgia finally got on track. They were facing an Auburn team that had looked dangerous the week before, so this could have gotten interesting. However, UGA put a stop to that possibility before it even got started, dominating 42-10 and taking back their rightful place atop the league.

Kirby Smart’s team is truly talented, but the fact of the matter is dominating like this can get boring. As a result, it makes sense that they will struggle at times, as they have to get up every week for bottom-tier SEC teams. Playing in the East historically has only made it more difficult.

However, last Saturday’s dominance wasn’t enough to move them to the top of our SEC Power Rankings, as at the end of the day, Auburn is a disastrous program that has a lot of work to do. When it comes to UGA, though, nothing is about to get that much more exciting.

Up next is a visit from Vanderbilt, a sure blowout. Then they have a bye before hosting Florida. The November games are what will define this team, as they visit Mississippi State, host Tennessee football and then visit a Kentucky team that should be much healthier by then. Winning all three would make them the clear-cut No. 1 team in the nation.
