Tennessee football moves back up SEC Power Rankings with win at LSU
Defeated Missouri Tigers 24-17
Two weeks after almost coming back to beat Tennessee football, Bill Napier’s team returned to Power Five play with what you might call an ugly win. However, they beat a Missouri team that was much closer with Georgia and Auburn the previous two games, so in all honesty, UF has nothing to be ashamed of with this win.
Florida is clinging to the top half of our SEC Power Rankings, just barely moving one spot up, but don’t forget that they have done some good things. The Utah Utes are still a good win, and although they lost to Kentucky, what’s happened recently forces us to put them ahead of UK.
Of course, with two East losses, a trip to Atlanta is out of the picture, but this is more of a rebuilding year anyway, and there’s a lot they can play for. The goal should be somehow getting to nine wins and flirting with the top 10 by the end of the year while finishing in the top 25.
It starts this week with a huge visit from LSU. Then they have a bye, and that Georgia matchup doesn’t look impossible anymore. After that, they visit Texas A&M, host South Carolina, host Vanderbilt and visit Florida State. All four games are winnable, so 9-3 in the regular season is on the table this year.
