Tennessee football stock report after Week 6 of 2022
It’s safe to say Tennessee football is one of the hottest buys right now if the Vols’ success is relative to a stock exchange. Starting 5-0 with three Power Five wins, coming off a 40-13 blowout win over the LSU Tigers and reaching the top 10 is all worth celebrating. Everybody in media is high on the Vols right now.
Josh Heupel has given off the perception that UT is back. Is that true? Well, we don’t know, and we honestly won’t know if they lose to the Alabama Crimson Tide this weekend either since anybody who is great could lose to that team in a blowout. That makes all of this intriguing.
However, Tennessee football has shown a good bit early on this year to suggest it’s back. Which parts of the Vols are riding highest right now on that run? That’s what we’re going to break down here in our stock report, which, as usual, will look at stocks rising, stocks falling, stocks to buy and stocks to sell. Let’s start with the overall stock of the program.
Is there any negative stock surrounding the Tennessee football Volunteers after their 40-13 win over the LSU Tigers?
Overall stock report: Maxed out
Okay, this may be a hot take, but as of right now, Tennessee football’s stock is maxed out. The Vols don’t have a College Football Playoff caliber team right now, and national analysts are giving them a chance to beat the Alabama Crimson Tide. If they pull that off, it’ll defy all the evidence surrounding them right now.
Look, Rocky Top has earned the respect it’s getting, but all three teams the Vols have beaten are currently unranked. Yes, their wins over those Power Five teams are partially the reason those teams are unranked, but taking the leap from that to suggesting they could beat Alabama is huge.
If they do beat Alabama, Tennessee football will obviously be on another level that shocks even us. However, a close loss won’t help their case, as lots of teams have had close losses to the Tide. That’ll just keep up the question over how good this team could be exactly. Until then, the Vols’ stock appears to be as high as it is.
