Tennessee football Week 5 NFL recap: New signing, devastating injury
Stars of the week
Emmanuel Moseley – DB – San Francisco 49ers
He may have gotten hurt for the season, but Emmanuel Moseley still managed to be one of the stars of the week out of Tennessee football. Moseley played on 83 percent of the defensive snaps in the 49ers’ 37-15 win over the Carolina Panthers Sunday, coming away with two tackles and two pass deflections.
However, what puts him on the list is what happened in the second quarter. Moseley picked off Baker Mayfield with SF clinging to a 10-3 lead and took it to the house the other way. A 41-yard interception touchdown return put the Niners in control, which may be why Matt Rhule was fired, and it put Moseley on this page.
Alvin Kamara – RB – New Orleans Saints
Welcome back Alvin Kamara! Over the past three weeks, Kamara has been battling injuries, only playing once. He was finally full-go as the New Orleans Saints beat the Seattle Seahawks 39-32 over the weekend. All he did was lead everybody on the day in yards from scrimmage.
Kamara had 23 carries for 103 yards, averaging almost right at four and a half yards a carry, and he had six catches for 91 yards. Now, yes, he did lose a fumble, which almost didn’t put him on this page, but there were so many other things he did to to make him a star of the week from UT.
