Peyton Manning was in the house as the guest picker. Lee Corso was back for the first time since, well, the last time Tennessee football hosted ESPN College GameDay. The whole crew was back for their matchup with the Alabama Crimson Tide three weeks after they beat the Florida Gators. Here are some notable videos from the day.

GameDay crew makes its picks with legendary Tennessee football quarterback Peyton Manning.

Everybody but Kirk Herbstreit picked the Vols for the second time too, as that’s exactly what happened when they hosted Florida. However, Tennessee football is an underdog this time, so it was a bit surprising to see that happen. At the same time, Vol fans may not have wanted so much hate against such an imposing opponent.

Don’t forget that SEC Nation was in town too, and Paul Finebaum made a splash of his own. Despite his connections to Alabama, Finebaum is from Memphis and a UT grad, and he had a theatrical showing of his support for Tennessee football. Here’s a look at that and everything else from SEC Nation in this game.

Back to College GameDay, a huge staple of the showing is signs, and Tennessee football fans brought plenty of those to this one. Alabama fans were there too for a few. Here’s a look at some of the most notable ones fans brought Saturday.

Simply put, it was another memorable College GameDay for the Vols. Hosting two in one year really is evidence of how far the program has come under Josh Heupel in two years. Tennessee football hasn’t done this since 2022.

The last time GameDay was on hand for a Tennessee football matchup with Alabama was 1995, when Manning threw a touchdown pass to Joey Kent on the first play of the game en route to a 41-14 victory. That ended a nine-game unbeaten streak the Vols were suffering against the Tide and launched a seven-game winning streak.
