By hook or crook, Lane Kiffin’s team is clinging to an undefeated record. He may be still rooting for Tennessee football, his may struggle with Auburn, and they may have needed a ton of luck to put away Kentucky, but Ole Miss is in the top 10 and controls its own destiny. In fact, they have multiple paths to the College Football Playoff still.

The nature of being undefeated is more than enough for us to put them in the top three of our SEC Power Rankings. However, for now, they have the worst resume of the undefeated teams. It’s still a good one, though, as they beat a fully healthy Kentucky team, and don’t forget that the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets team they beat still beat the Pittsburgh Panthers team UT beat.

Simply put, Ole Miss has shown itself to be a pretty good team, and they are another one of those who may play sluggish at times but can turn it on when needed. This top 10 ranking is well-deserved for them. Now, though, they’re really about to be tested.

Up next for the Rebels is a trip to LSU, which could be a dangerous matchup for them. Then they visit Texas A&M before their bye. After that is their huge showdown with Alabama, but they can’t look ahead to that game yet. Oh, and they still have Arkansas on the road and MSU to close the season. All five teams have been in the top 25 at least once this year, so this will be brutal.
