Stars of the week

Alvin Kamara – RB – New Orleans Saints

Here’s your typical Tennessee football star in the pros. Alvin Kamara, who missed a portion of the season due to injury, was back to his usual self. Now, he didn’t find the end zone, but he proved his worth as an elite all-purpose back and showed what the New Orleans Saints were missing, even as they did lose 30-26 to the Cincinnati Bengals.

Kamara had 19 carries for 99 yards and six catches for 25 yards. This is the type of play we have come to expect from him, and there were questions if he still had it. Averaging over five yards a carry should put that to rest, as should being an effective player in the passing game.

Darrell Taylor – DE – Seattle Seahawks

In recent week’s Darrell Taylor’s issues as a full time edge rusher resulted in his minutes reducing. Well, he handled that like a pro, and in this game, he took advantages of the opportunities afforded to him. Playing on just over 50 percent of the defensive snaps, Taylor came away with two solo tackles.

Most notably, Taylor had a strip-sack, his second sack in four games, as the Seattle Seahawks beat the Arizona Cardinals 19-9. Maybe he is coming on after all. That certainly seemed to be the case in this game, and Seattle is back to 3-3 on the year.
