Other former Vols who didn’t play

Joshua Dobbs – QB – Cleveland Browns

Still backing up Jacoby Brissett, Josh Dobbs had to sit on the sidelines as the Browns lost to the New England Patriots 38-15. Maybe it was because Brissett played for the Pats, so Bill Belichick knew his style, but he was awful. As a result, it’s possible Dobbs starts seeing some looks soon enough before DeShaun Watson returns.

Inactive

Theo Jackson – DB – Minnesota Vikings

After being selected by the Tennessee Titans in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL Draft, Theo Jackson was cut and then signed with the Minnesota Vikings last week. However, he was inactive as they beat the Miami Dolphins 24-16 over the weekend.

Cade Mays – OL – Carolina Panthers

Just like Theo Jackson, Cade Mays was a sixth-round draft pick out of Tennessee football. However, he still has yet to play, and even with Matt Rhule fired, he didn’t see any action this past weekend as the Carolina Panthers lost to the LA Rams 24-10.

On practice squads

Micah Abernathy – DB – Green Bay Packers

John Kelly – RB – Cleveland Browns

Khalil McKenzie – OL – Baltimore Ravens

Jonathan Kongbo – DE – Indianapolis Colts

Next. Vols' stock report after Week 7. dark

Again, injuries and byes held back Tennessee football this past weekend. This week, only Theo Jackson is playing for a team on a bye, and he’s been inactive anyway. As a result, there should be more chances for Vols to thrive. However, Darrell Taylor breaking out was the story.
