Tennessee football’s five key players to watch for vs. UT-Martin

Putting a game out of reach early involves scoring, and Tennessee football is a bad matchup there for UT-Martin. The Skyhawks give up nearly 270 yards a game through the air, and they have struggled with elite receivers all season. In four of their six games, they have allowed a 100-yard receiver, and in two of the, the receivers went for over 150 yards.
So who steps up in this game? Well, Jalin Hyatt was the star last game, and some slot receivers have torched UT-Martin. However, they really struggle with big targets, so the Vols’ elite wideouts are the ones who can make a difference here. As shown the past three weeks, even without Cedric Tillman, that shouldn’t be a problem.
Ramel Keyton was the bigger star last week among the wideouts, but you might as well rely on Bru McCoy in this one. He’s more physical than Keyton and has been more of a playmaker, so look for the Vols to go his way a lot more, especially after a bit of a drop-off last week.
All three of them could make plays to put the game away early, though, and that’s really the goal. McCoy just happens to be the most unstoppable force UT has available at receiver right now from a physical perspective, so against a team like UT-Martin, he can win the game early.
