It’s a top 10 matchup featuring Chip Kelly and his old team. Remember when Tennessee football fans wanted Kelly? Well, he still may have worked out, but Vol fans are pretty certain now that they have found an even better offensive mind in Josh Heupel. As for Kelly, it’s his offense against an elite defensive coach.

The UCLA Bruins come into this game with back to back wins over top 25 foes, and now they are ranked No. 9 in the AP Poll and No. 10 in the Coaches Poll. If they can pull it out in this game, they won’t lose at. least until Nov. 19, when they host the USC Trojans. Things get that easy, so they can go all in here.

However, the Oregon Ducks have been on a roll ever since that season-opening blowout loss to the Georgia Bulldogs. They’ve won every game to get back into the top 10, at No. 10 in the AP Poll and No. 9 in the Coaches Poll, so yes, some voters are still higher on them than UCLA.

Prediction

UCLA hasn’t been tested on the road. Oregon hasn’t really beaten a good team in this skid. Who reveals themselves? Honestly, UCLA fans aren’t great anyway, so it’s not like the Rose Bowl is that much of an advantage. We can see what they have done to teams there.

Taking that into account, UCLA is better constructed than Oregon right now. They can match Oregon’s physicality, and they are ahead of the curve offensively. Oregon still has defensive issues. As a result, the Bruins will win this one in a shootout. Take the over and them to cover.

UCLA: 45 Oregon: 42 (UCLA +6.5; Over 70.5)
