Here’s another undefeated team and another key Big 12 matchup with two teams in contention to win that conference. It’s crazy that so many programs are making a run over there except the Oklahoma Sooners, and after this weekend, Texas could be the other team eliminated.

Anyway, TCU is rolling under Sonny Dykes. That offense has taken off, and they are ranked No. 8 in both polls after an epic win over Oklahoma State last weekend. Should they win at home on Saturday, a visit to Texas is their only top 25 matchup the rest of the year, so the College Football Playoff will become a real thing.

On the other side, the Kansas State Wildcats, ranked No. 17 in both polls, suffered one heartbreaking loss to the Tulane Green Wave earlier this year, but Tulane is now 6-1 and No. 25 in both polls, so that’s not a bad loss anymore. This could be the game to prove they are legit under Chris Klieman.

Prediction

The first official national championship for Tennessee football was 1938, and they shared it with TCU. Obviously, 1998 was Tennessee football’s last official national championship, and Kansas State was No. 2 and set to face them until they were upset in the Big 12 Championship game.

Obviously, that’s relevant given how the Vols are playing now. Anyway, Kansas State is highly underrated, and TCU is exhausted after a two-overtime game last week. With KSU coming off a bye, they’ll pull out a close but ugly upset. Take them outright, and this game hits the under because of K-State’s rested defense.

Kansas State: 27 TCU: 24 (Kansas State +3.5; Under 54.5)
