Well one thing is similar about the last two weeks for Tennessee football outside of the Vols winning the game. Josh Heupel’s offense provided fans with plenty of highlights. That’s always going to happen when you score 60 or more points against a team, which UT did for the second time this year and fourth time under Heupel.

There’s never a time a 65-24 victory isn’t fun. Of course, the fact that it was against the UT-Martin Skyhawks, an FCS school, and the fact that it was on SEC Network meant the highlight reel wouldn’t be as readily available as others. However, we still were able to pull plenty of them.

It was homecoming for Tennessee football after all, so there were more eyes than usual on a game like this. Add in the fact that some individual offensive records are being approached and broken, and there are definitely plays that were worth capturing. Here are video highlights from the Vols’ win over UT-Martin.

William Wright interception

Hendon Hooker eight-yard touchdown pass to Ramel Keyton

Hendon Hooker 22-yard touchdown pass to Jalin Hyatt

Hendon Hooker 17-yard touchdown pass to Ramel Keyton

Princeton Fant 11-yard touchdown run

Princeton Fant 66-yard touchdown pass to Jalin Hyatt

Plenty of plays were left of this. Touchdown runs by Jabari Small and Princeton Fant, the first two scores of the game, didn’t make it in, and neither did a 60-yard touchdown pass from Joe Milton III to Squirrel White in the second half. A one-yard touchdown run by Dylan Sampson to open the second half also didn’t make it.

There were also key defensive plays in the first half, including a huge tackle for a loss and later a sack by Solon Page III and then a fumble forced by Trevon Flowers and recovered by Aaron Beasley. Two fourth down stops, one in each half, were also highlight worthy.

Other big plays on offense included a 44-yard pass from Hooker to Hyatt on the first drive, a 38-yard pass from Hooker to Keyton, a 22-yard run by Hooker on a 3rd and 19 and 49-yard pass from Hooker to White. Milton had huge completions to Walker Merrill and Jimmy Holiday to set up Sampson’s touchdown run, and Sampson also had a 45-yard run.

Simply put, Tennessee football put on a show in this game, and not all of that show was able to make it into this highlight reel. However, the biggest plays when this game could have still been considered in question made it, and it really puts on display how fun homecoming was for Vol Nation on Saturday.
