Did not play

It’s a pretty open secret that Georgia is probably once again the most talented team in the SEC. However, of the two remaining undefeated teams in the league, they belong in second spot solely on resume. Not playing last week didn’t do them any favors, as we have to nitpick the two teams at the top for a reason.

Among them, UGA has the best non-conference win. We can’t dismiss blowing out the Oregon Ducks. However, their best SEC win is over a South Carolina team that, while winning on the road, was not the South Carolina team we’ve seen recently. Their other three are Auburn, Missouri and Vanderbilt, the three worst in the league.

Add in the fact that they struggled with Mizzou and even the Kent State Golden Flashes, and quite honestly, they had too many issues to suggest they should be at the top of the league. Coming off the bye, though, Kirby Smart’s team is about to have every chance to prove they’re the best.

They start with a huge game against Florida, one they can’t take lightly. Then they host Tennessee football, the team ahead of them in these rankings. November is brutal for them in general, though, as they still visit Mississippi State and Kentucky, so if they’re not careful, going 9-3 is a strong possibility.
