Defeated Vanderbilt Commodores 17-14

What do we make of Eli Drinkwitz’s team? They should’ve beaten the Auburn Tigers and Georgia Bulldogs, and they only lost to Florida by a touchdown. However, then they come off of a bye to only beat Vandy by a field goal. It seems as if they are meant to make every game interesting, regardless of how outmatched they or their opponent is.

At the end the day, though Mizzou got an SEC win, and they did at least lead this one 17-0. What seems to be the problem is their inability to hold leads in the second half. Getting the win keeps them at No. 13 in our SEC Power Rankings. After all, they have a conference win and a Power Five win at that, neither of which Vandy has.

The season isn’t a loss for them either. They still have a visit from the New Mexico State Aggies, which should be a win, and then they have to find two upsets at South Carolina, against Kentucky at home, at Tennessee football and against Arkansas at home to reach bowl eligibility.

None of this seems too likely, but maybe anything could happen with Kentucky and Arkansas coming to Columbia. That Arkansas game is definitely plausible, and there’s still a possibility that South Carolina has just been lucky but is vastly overrated. Simply put, it’s not over yet.
