Tennessee football still on top of SEC Power Rankings after Week 8 of 2022

Is Florida a top 25 team? We honestly don’t know. Again, that win over the Utah Utes keeps looking better, and there’s no real shame in their losses to Kentucky or Tennessee football. Now, their loss to LSU doesn’t look as bad either, but first-year head coach Billy Napier needs to start stealing a few wins here and there.
Take away a few mistakes, and this team actually could be undefeated, but the defense is starting to become a concern. Still, mistakes by other teams combined with them not playing allowed them to move up in our SEC Power Rankings, and now they have a chance to move up more.
A lot is on the line this weekend as they return to the field for the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party against Georgia in Jacksonville. To have a strong first impression this season, they need another signature victory, and this is their chance to do that.
If not, though, the sky won’t fall. Florida has a winnable game in a visit to A&M, and they still visit Vandy and a reeling Florida State Seminoles team. A huge matchup could be a home date with South Carolina in November. With that slate, they should get six wins. Five is a guarantee. Up to eight is certainly possible.
