Tennessee Lady Vols’ 2022-23 preview: Frontcourt
Newcomers
Rickea Jackson (Transfer)
- 6’2″
- Senior
- Detroit, Mich.
By far the most high-profile of all the Tennessee Lady Vols’ transfers, Rickea Jackson was an All-SEC forward with the Mississippi State Bulldogs. She was averaging over 20 points a game and nearly seven rebounds while shooting 73 percent from the free throw line. It’s expected that she’ll be an immediate star at the four.
Jasmine Franklin (Transfer)
- 6’1″
- Senior (GR)
- Fayetteville, Ark.
While Jackson is the star, don’t sleep on Jasmine Franklin. The Missouri State Lady Bears transfer initially played for Kellie Harper there and averaged 15 points and 12 rebounds last year. She also averaged two and a half blocks a game, so she could join Tamari Key for more dominant defense in the post.
Jillian Hollingshead (Transfer)
- 6’5″
- Gainesville, Ga.
- McEachern H.S./Georgia
Speaking of Key, the future at center after she leaves is Jillian Hollingshead. The Georgia Bulldogs transfer averaged over five points and two and a half rebounds last year in under 13 minutes of play. She’s a true center, just like Key, and a rising superstar with more development.
Justine Pissott (Signee)
- 6’4″
- Freshman
- Toms River, N.J.
The only signee for the Tennessee Lady Vols, Justine Pissott is another five-star wing out of Red Bank Catholic High School in New Jersey. Despite being listed as a wing, her size shows she can play the four or the five, and that versatility makes her a future star too.
