Finally, C.J. Stroud gets a chance at a Heisman moment. A top 15 Big Ten matchup that will have huge implications on the East is the game of the week by far. Honestly, it has a lot more magnitude than people are giving it credit for, and it could have huge implications on Tennessee football down the road.

Part of those implications is that Heusman race. Stroud and Hendon Hooker are in a dead heat right now, and both have top 25 games this weekend. Also, Ryan Day’s team, No. 2 in both polls, would make next week’s matchup between the Vols and Georgia Bulldogs a 2 vs. 1 matchup if OSU loses and both UT and UGA win.

Is that possible? Well, the Penn State Nittany Lions got blown out by the Michigan Wolverines two weeks ago, but they’re still No. 13 in both polls. Coming off a 45-17 win over the Minnesota Golden Gophers, James Franklin’s team could get back in the East race with a win here.

Prediction

Confession: I’m swept up in the moment. Penn State is always good for a quality win under Franklin, and I’m getting 2016 vibes from them this year. That year, they got blown out by Michigan but then shocked Ohio State to win the East. It’s going to happen again.

Ohio State’s offense took just a little too long to get going for my liking against the Iowa Hawkeyes last week, and that’ll cost them here. Penn State is one of the best at bringing pressure, and it’ll be the first time Stroud sees that, so take the under. Penn State pulls off the upset, setting the stage for a potential Tennessee football vs. Georgia 2 vs. 1 matchup.

Penn State: 27 Ohio State: 26 (Penn State +15; Under 61)
