It’s the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party, but for the first time ever, Georgia’s game the next week against Tennessee football is getting bigger news. It’s the first time ever because when that game would have been more relevant, maybe in the Ron Zook era, the Vols played UGA before the Dawgs faced the Florida Gators.

Anyway, Kirby Smart’s team is coming off a bye week, and after struggling two weeks in a row in late September and early October, they regrouped to blow out Auburn and the Vanderbilt Commodores. That got them back up to No. 1 in both polls thanks to the Alabama Crimson Tide losing to the Vols, but they still have some issues.

Bill Napier is having some growing pains with the Florida Gators, but none of his three losses are that bad, and the Utah Utes is still a good win. If not for the schedule, Florida would have a strong case to be a top 25 team. A win here would certainly lend credibility to that.

Prediction

Honestly, turnovers are the only thing that kept Georgia from blowing out the Kent State Golden Flashes and Vanderbilt Commodores. Florida has the No. 1 rush offense with Anthony Richardson. Want to know who’s No. 2? The Oregon Ducks, who lost 49-3 to UGA. Coming off a bye, the Dawgs aren’t going to make those mistakes.

I’m taking them to cover this ridiculous spread. There’s a chance they’ll be looking ahead to Tennessee football, but they have too many veterans for that. UGA’s shutdown defense is why this game hits the under too. This isn’t UT’s secondary, so Anthony Richardson struggles.

Georgia: 35 Florida: 10 (Georgia -22.5; Under 56.5)
