We may not be doing well with our overall gambling picks, but prop bets are killing it for Tennessee football. There weren’t enough to make last week since the Vols were facing an FCS school, but we hit all five prop bets against the Alabama Crimson Tide. If anything, we weren’t aggressive enough with what happened in that game.

Facing the Kentucky Wildcats is a different case. They are built in a unique way, Mark Stoops’ team is coming off a bye, and the Vols are in danger of looking ahead to the Georgia Bulldogs. All of this could throw out what should be a blowout for UT on paper, which is why we switched up our pick.

Earlier in the week, we had the Vols winning but UK covering while the game hit the over. Now, we have the Vols covering and the game hitting the under because UK won’t score enough. How will this all end up in terms of individual things happening in the game, though? Here are the five best prop bets for Tennessee football against Kentucky.

These are the best gambling picks to make in the Tennessee football Volunteers’ matchup with UK.

5. Chris Rodriguez Jr. scores a touchdown (-300 on FanDuel)

Game odds refresh periodically and are subject to change

Although he didn’t score one last year against the Vols, Chris Rodriguez is more likely than not to score a touchdown every game given Kentucky’s style of play. The Vols have issues in the secondary, but they don’t give up big plays, and that forces teams to move the ball down the field, increasing the likelihood that they score on the ground.

Taking that into account, Rodriguez is almost certain to get into the end zone. Now, UT does have an elite rush defense, so stay away from the over/under on his total yards, but him scoring a touchdown is a pretty safe bet. The way he plays adds to that, as he falls forward for a couple of yards at least every time he touches the ball.

Of course, Kentucky’s pass protection and offensive line are so awful that Tennessee football should still win the rushing battle by a huge margin. However, there will be a point in which they get inside the five-yard line at least once in this game, and that’s when Rodriguez will score.
