Lost to Florida Gators 42-20
They may be No. 1 across the board in the rankings nationally, but they don’t deserve to be No. 1 in our SEC Power Rankings. Georgia struggled at times with Florida despite ending up with a blowout victory, and they keep playing with fire. This was off a bye week. Although Florida also had a bye, UGA should’ve benefitted most.
Fully healthy, the Dawgs are way better. Okay, so they still blew out Florida. When you take the struggles in the totality, though, including their issues with Mizzou and the Kent State Golden Flashes, they keep just periodically turning it on, and that can be a problem.
As a result, they are below Tennessee football, down at No. 2, in our SEC Power Rankings for now. That Oregon Ducks win can only buy you so much capital, and they now have to prove themselves with another quality win. Well, the opportunity for that comes this week.
It just so happens that Tennessee football is coming to town. This is the SEC East Game of the Century we spoke about. However, even if UGA wins, things aren’t a guarantee. Trips to Mississippi State and Kentucky can both be difficult. Simply put, this is about to be a brutal November for them, so they had better brace themselves.
