Tennessee football or Georgia in SEC Power Rankings after Week 9 of 2022?
Lost to Arkansas Razorbacks 41-27
The bottom has officially fallen out on this program. Coming off a bye, the Auburn Tigers had the Arkansas Razorbacks at home, and they lost easily. Bryan Harsin is done, as he was fired the following Monday. Remember when he was considered a better hire than Tennessee football’s Josh Heupel in 2021 around this time? That’s over.
Auburn is now on a four-game losing streak, and to be honest, it should be a five-game losing streak. They were lucky beyond lucky to beat Mizzou earlier in the year. This team should be 2-6. That win over Mizzou, though, is the one thing that keeps them ahead of the Vanderbilt Commodores in our SEC Power Rankings.
With legendary Auburn running back Cadillac Williams taking over as head coach, maybe they can reignite the flame they need. Before Cam Newton, Williams was probably the best Auburn player of the modern era after all. The schedule doesn’t set up well for that, though.
Up next is a trip to the Mississippi State Bulldogs, who are elite at home. They also close out with that dreaded visit to the Alabama Crimson Tide. However, in between, they have a path to five wins, as they host the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers and the next team on this list, one that’s also falling apart.
