Tennessee football or Georgia in SEC Power Rankings after Week 9 of 2022?
Lost to Ole Miss Rebels 31-28
Normally, Jimbo Fisher stays just barely afloat as head coach of the Texas A&M Aggies by scoring one huge, quality win. He didn’t get that over the weekend, though, and as a result, it’s safe to say the program is falling apart. All Fisher has to rely on at this point is recruiting, but that means nothing if you don’t win.
Texas A&M had the chance to light a spark by facing what everybody believed to be an Ole Miss Rebels team. They were in it early as well. However, they allowed Ole Miss to take control in the fourth quarter, and while they lost by just a field goal, they trailed by 10 points most of the time in that quarter.
As a result, this team has completely collapsed. Tennessee football rivals A&M when it comes to NIL money, but A&M has been getting the more high-profile recruiting classes. The Vols have just been winning at a much higher level. A bowl is on the table for this team, as things will get easier, but they’re still difficult.
Up next for A&M is a visit from the Florida Gators. Then they visit an Auburn team that has also collapsed before hosting the UMASS Minutemen. That’s enough to secure six wins, and then they host the LSU Tigers to close out the season. Winning all four is possible, but 6-6 is likely.
