Yes, it’s a bit weird to move up Billy Napier’s team after getting blown out by Georgia. However, losing that was is par for the course if you look at the level Florida is at and the level Georgia is at right now. The big thing about that blowout is how concerning it is for Tennessee football, which only beat Florida by one score.

Anyway, Florida did what reflected a team in this level of our SEC Power Rankings, and that Mizzou upset over South Carolina changed everything. Mizzou can’t leapfrog Florida, but South Carolina couldn’t stay ahead of them either after such a bad loss.

As a result, here we are. Florida creeped back up to middle of the pack after that Georgia game, and they are clearly focused on the future, but a strong finish to the season is crucial for Napier to be able to sell what he’s doing. Luckily, the schedule allows for that.

Up next for UF is a trip to a reeling Texas A&M program. Then they host South Carolina in a game they shouldn’t lose. They finish with visits to the Vanderbilt Commodores and Florida State Seminoles. South Carolina and Vandy should be guaranteed wins. FSU has lost three of four, and A&M is struggling, so 8-4 is on the table.
